tomtom 520 car preferences

Hi all, just new to the forum so hello to all, the problem i have is that i have just bought a tomtom 520 and would like it to know when i am towing my van so it doesnt take me down any unsuitable roads ( as it has done when i'm not towing ) the car preferences icon on the unit is visable but it just wont let me into it at all, anyone any ideas?

Welcome to the forum, that icon has always been greyed out and possible to select, maybe at some future point they will enable by software updates but for now we don't even know what it should do - Mike

Thanks for that mike, just had a wee look at my unit and its a 720 not a 520, but guess its the same eh?

HI bcam welcome, I also tow a caravan,if I were you I would disable the I,Q routing facility, as it takes you down some small roads, great if just in a car but no good for the van...

Hi Neil many thanks, being a total novice i have no idea what the IQ seting is! i'll have a wee shoofty about the unit.

Don't bother bcam... red herring.
If you have a Go520 you don't have IQ routing - it only came in with v8 software and maps on the x30 models.

Same thing applies though. You don't have IQ routing on your model, so you can't switch it off! Smile
