i am going to subscribe to speed cameras but before i install them do i have to remove my old database or does it over write them.

The PGPSW camera database is completely separate to the TomTom version. You can have either or both databases installed and operational.

The normal advice is to leave both running for a period until you have convinced yoursel that the PGPSW version is superior. At that point, you can turn off the Tomtom version!

thanks this is usefull to know but i allready have an old pgps database installed as well as my tom tom so do i remove theold pgps data before i put the new one in

You might as well...
When you update the database normally, you just paste the new files into your map folder and they overwrite the old ones (as they have the same name).
This depends on you always downloading the same version of the database (all in one, consolidated by type or full speed-zoned).

However, as you have an old version, it might have a different selection of files, so it's probably best to start from scratch.
Using Windows Explorer simply delete any files in the map folder that start with "PocketGPS....".
