Hi Mike, tried to e-mail you and priv.message you but p.c. here not working too well. You remember we talked about speed cam updates for my sat nav I bought on e-bay, and you sent me some ideas on how to do it. Well, I was bringing the thing in from the car this morning to connect it to the p.c. and guess what........I dropped it onto the concrete path. Don't need updates any more!!!!!! its knackered.... Need a new machine now. Thanks anyway for your input, much appreciated. Regds Patrick |

Sorry to hear that, depending upon your budget you would be better off considering one of the main stream devices from either TomTom or Garmin rather than taking a chance with the E-Bay imported "no badge" devices - I am sure we could have got this working, but I guess gravity has a different view on the subject, let us know what you get next time - Mike |

Yes Mike I think you're right about the e-bay stuff. My lovely lady wife has hinted that she may be able to help out with her credit card when it comes to a replacement, so there's hope there. I understand there are some good half -price deals at Halfords so we may be going into town soon to see just whats on offer. Bye for now..............Patrick |

Or if you want a REAL sat-nav they've got the TomTom One Explore + FREE Carry Case for £109.99
Before the Garmin lovers jump on me.... I'm only winding you up!
My serious point is: try to actually play with as many brands as you can, rather than just looking at them in the glass case. They all should get you from A to B, but they all "feel" different, which may or may not make a difference to you.
On thing I will say, TomTom have an annoying habit of releasing new models with the same name as the old one (The "ONE" range especially). If your local Halfords is as bad as my local PC World, do be careful because they have piles of different models all jumbled up under the wrong price tickets and even the wrong names next to the display models! |
