Hi,

I am familiar with using the speed camera database on my old tomtom 500, but have just upgraded to the GO 530T. Now I am unable to use the same techniques for copying the camera database files as the new Tomtom does not even show up on my computer and I am unsure if it is worth signing up for your database. The only access to the 530 seems to be via Tomtom Home. Is there a way of copying the necessary files to this new tomtom or is this a sneaky way of forcing us to use the Tomtom camera database?

Nothing's changed so you 'should' still be able to see your 530 as a drive on your PC.

I may have made a mistake but were at one time you were able to add the pocketgps cameras through Tomtom home and this was stopped because of the way Tomtom changed there Home software configuration!!

I presume you are talking about the Pocketgps cameras and not Tomtoms own camera database.
If it is the pocket gps follow steps below and do not forget to do an windows explorer backup

To add the pocketgps cameras you connect the sat up as on the cradle and turn on the sat nav !! your Tomtom will ask you if you want to connect to the computer you touch yes !!
Tomtom home should start up you then minimise it and click on my computer and you should see the drive on there !! just download the cameras and extract them to the map folder .
Make sure you disconnect the device by the disconnect device tab in Tomtom Home

This may not be the advice that you are looking for if not someone else may come along

Many thanks for that - about the only thing I hadn't tried was to minimise Tomtom Home. Now I can see the 530 in Explorer again.
