My cousin has a TT go and subscribes and uses the camera pois with no problem.
2 months ago he asked me to put LPG stations on which I did by copying onto the sd card but couldnt see them on the TT. Tried activating, navigate to POI , manage POI etc but they just werent there.
Tried them on my TT navigator worked straight away.
Tried all sorts of things eventually copied the entire sd card on to a larger 2gb card worked fine.
Recently they have gone missing again and I can't get them back.
I've tried removing some camera POI's in case its over the POI limit (hes a bit of a technophobe and hasnt changed anything) but still no joy. When you look at the card with a card reader they are all there.
Retrospect I ought to have tried another poi categary but he doesnt live very near me to try now.
Have you experts any ideas, many thanks

Look at the map folder using Windows Explorer and count up the number of files that end with a file extension of .ov2 these are the POI files, dependent upon the actual software version loaded to the device will explain the problem, more recent software versions will allow 100 or more custom POI files, earlier software can result in a limit of 27 categories. Do you have any idea as to the actual software version loaded to the device? - tap the sat strength meter (lower right corner) to display the version information - Mike

Have you tried a Reset (Pin in the Hole)?

and get the software version.
I can't get him to look at the files as he hasn't a reader and he's a technophobe.
But I previously removed some spare POI's and it made no difference.
I'll come back asap.
Thanks all.

You don't need a card reader if you can connect the TT directly to the PC - it will show as a separate drive.

This will definitely be your problem....

You can add as many extra POI files as you like to the Go, but it will simply ignore any over a certain number (see below for how many). It isn't even always the last ones added that are ignored, it makes its own (random?) decision about which ones to show.

The lowest limit was 24 categories in one version of v5 software (v5.202 if I remember correctly).
The usual limit for v5 software was 39 categories and this was increased to 100 for all models with the release of v6 software.

V7 software allows a more variable number, depending on the actual model. TT promised me 300 on an x20 model, although this is unconfirmed, Oldboy has reported 169 on a Go910 and others have mentioned 190 on the x20 models.

You really need to talk him through connecting the Go to his PC (with a USB cable), opening up a Windows Explorer view of the TT's SD card (Windows will "see" it as a new hard-drive), and counting the number of files with an ov2 extension.
This has been described on the forum many times. If you can't find it with a search, come back and I'll write it out again.

If he cannot see the three letter extensions on the files:
Ensure that file extensions are not hidden.

In Windows Explorer (or My Computer) TOOLS / FOLDER OPTIONS / VIEW Tab /
In the "Advanced settings" section:-
UN-TICK "Hide extensions for known file types"

After a long time I was finally able to try the offered fix.
There were 39 POI's on a V5 but it would'nt work but I removed 3 of them and it was then fine.
Many thanks all for your help.
