I want to put a traffic RX on my ONE. Are there different versions and should some of the older ones be avoided?

The current RDS-TMC receiver that will work with the One v7/ v6 (and I bet that gets some comments, but the One Third Edition regional is in fact a v7 device, the Europe is v6) should end with a part number of .013 - this is the latest device and is a good combination - from my experiance the same receiver works better with the One v7 than the 720 or 930 I have tried it with!
That said the information isn't too good, so don't rely upon the RDS 100% to avoid traffic incidents - Mike

The latest one has a label on the end with the plug connector, 4V00.013 - the 013 bit is the important one.

Don't waste your money just yet!! It's as much use as a chocolate teapot, because TomTom haven't got the system working properly.

This thread will give you an idea of the present problem - nothing posted in it for nearly a fortnight is NOT saying it's become better, merely that we are all totally fed up of repeating ourselves!! I'd advise you to hold off buying it until you hear that it works - that is probably going to have to wait until version 8 firmware is released for the x20 series devices.

Switch your radio to BBC Radio 5 Live (MW 693 and 909) for traffic info at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. I think it's just as accurate as any TMC device AND if you feel inclined, you can text them on 85058 to report or query traffic problems, something you don't seem able to do with any other.
