Hi,

I downloaded the "UK and Worldwide GPSR Map Overlay" for my StreetPilot 2610, but in Mapsource all I got was a blank page with several selectable rectangles (no images). Each rectangle bears the legend: "Map Created With Http://Cgpsmapper.Com." When I checked the folder in my start-up I saw that only the "read me" file had been installed in the "Safety Camera" folder. Despite several downloads, the problem persists. What am I doing wrong, please?

Thank you.

I think you'll find its probably fine. The empty rectangles are not really empty, but you don't get to see any detail (i.e. camera locations) until you zoom in to quite a large scale. Try zooming into the UK map for example and you'll see what I mean. You also need to have the Mapsource Detail set to Normal or higher in the toolbar.

The Readme.txt file is the only item installed into the Startup folder. The actual maps are installed into wherever you selected at install time, which defaults to C:Program Files\SafetyCameraMap (or something similar). Check there to confirm files have been installed.

Of course the real acid test is, can you select the map areas, download them to your 2610, and do camera locations show up?

Try the above tips, then let us know how you get on.

And very fine it is, too! Thanks, Wired!

I tried zooming in - to no avail - and there was no way of knowing which map was which, so I just downloaded everything, turned the unit on and the camera locations show up in the UK and Europe - what a relief, because we're off to France on Wednesday!

Again, many thanks! Very Happy

Glad you got it to work.

It's not immediately obvious at first, but when you zoom right out to the point where there are just the "empty" rectangles, what you're actually looking at there is a map of the world. Or at least the parts of the world that have PGPSW Safety Camera information Very Happy . So, at the top-centre of the map is a tiny rectangle - that's the UK, and it sort of partially overlays another rectangle - that'll be Europe. USA and Canada are on the left, Australia is at bottom right, and so on.

You can work out which map is which by choosing the map Selection tool, then hovering over any of the rectangles. A short description of the map chosen map appears in the status bar at the bottom of the Mapsource screen. It may just say "PGPSW UK" or "PGPSW UK", but its usually sufficient to identify the map.

HTH
