Just go a ONE 3rd Edition and installed HOME. Connected my ONE and it asked to update the maps. I let it and now when I switch it on I get a RED CIRCLE with a WHITE X.
I can see the ONE 's folders from windows explore - whats the fix for this ??
I'm off to lego land tomorrow so would like to get it working tonight if poss.
Thanks All. |

Found this berried and it worked for me !!!
The normal approach to this is to delete all the files from the root of the TomTom device, just the files though
DO NOT DELETE ANY FOLDERS
Then connect the device to the PC and run TomTom Home, let it check for updates and it will download and install the latest version of software to your device - Mike[/i] |

Well done.
Marvellous what a Search can achieve. _________________ Richard

A possible CAUSE for what happened is that you disconnected the ONE before it had actually finished copying the files it needed.
If you aren't doing this already, make sure that before you unplug, you always either use "disconnect device" in the Home Device menu, or use "safely remove hardware" in the PC system tray (next to the clock). |

And remember to make a backup using Windows Explorer (see FAQ item 1). _________________ Gerry

It appeared to have finished as the window appeared asking to disconnect and reconnect.
I think possible the TOmTomHome miss identified my unit and updated with another as there appears to be more files this time in the root directory (unless of course it hadn't completed the update correctly)! |

I also suffered the red cross issue I now use disconnect device on the tool bar !!! then I wait until the GPS asks again do you wish to connect to the computer and I touch the no on the sat nav screen !!
Tomtom home is not reliable it often says you can now disconnect your device now but you can tell the disconnection process has not been completed |
