Rds-tmc traffic info with no route planned?

Hi all

My first post and I would like to say first of all, thank you for all your help and advice that I have got, just sitting back and reading this forum and also thank you to Pocket GPS for the life time sub to the camera data base.

I have searched for the answer to my question but could not find one.

I have just recently received from TomTom as a gesture of good will, the rds-tmc receiver and have used it for the first time today, other than the known issues with app 7.481 it worked fine never lost signal and showed up traffic problems when I had a route planned. Is there any way for it to show traffic problems on the side bar?

Or is it as I expect because the unit does not where you are going, it will not and you can only see any probs by going to the traffic screen and then browse map.

If the unit doesn't know where you are routed it will not know if any traffic exists where you are going, as you have found you can display traffic via the map page, but you are much better having a route planned to take full advantage of the software (version 7 limits and all) - Mike
