new database

Hi there, Newbee i'm afraid, just down loaded first database, unzipped, put in map folder on pocket pc, gone to enable/disable poi's, i cant find anything to enable, no safety camera poi to enable, am i missing something, many thanks

Presumably you didn't copy the Folder containing the OV2/BMP Files to the Map Folder? Only the Files themselves.

Have you checked to see how many OV2 Files are in the Map Folder? There is a limit that depends on which Version of Software you are using.

Thanks for your help, have installed in the folder that said gb maps, but when i look in that folder there are lots of other folders, could you tell me what index the files in the actual map folder have so i can try and find out which of these folders the ov files should go in?

In the map folder there should be no other folders at all just files. I would also expect the map folder to be named differently to the one you name above.

Can you tell us what folders there are available in the root of the memory card, also when you start TomTom on the PDA what version have you got (tap the sat strength meter to display this information)

5,21 has a custom POI limit of 39
6,xx has a custom POI limit of 100

hi there,

I have version 6.032 apparently,
would anyone know what sort of size the map data file would be for uk and ireland. the Main files inside the map file seem to be,
CLINE 121mb
CNODE 50.7 mb
CNAME 44.4 mb
FACES 16.7 mb
MAPINFO 5.57 mb
POI 4.93 mb
TMCCODES 2.21 mb.
All the others are the pgps files that i put on after i bought the database, I guess they should go into one of these, but?
there are other files but all only kb size.
Any help greatley appreciated.

Put the speed camera files in the map FOLDER, which would appear to be where you are listing the above files from.
You cannot put files within files, files have to go inside a folder.

How many files ending with .ov2 have you actually got inside the map folder? - Mike
