MD 96800 update options?

Hi all, newbie here

I have just 'discovered' the joy of Sat Nav by borrowing my father-in-law's 2005 Medion. Great, but the maps are also 2005 as I discovered just coming home from work today.
Can someone reply with some simple map update options?
Are there newer compatible maps available?
If so where do I get them?

It is running Navigator 5.1a and I am sure my father-in-law won't have upgraded anything. I am PC savvy so fire away (please).
