Having recently changed my browser to Mozilla Firefox v 3.0.1 (5.0 windows) I find that I can't download the camera database. Fortunately I still have Internet Exploer 7 on my pc which works fine but as Mozilla Firefox is so much quicker I'd really prefer to use it to download. Any suggestions?

I'm using Firefox 3.0.1 on WinXp Sp3 and have never had any issues.

Could you describe what happens when you try and download and which version of the database?

do you use zonealarm or any other firewall software that could be blocking it?

i've never had any problems with FF going right back to the Firebird days right up to 3.1alpha2 so i have always put it down to either dodgy plug-ins / add-ons or firewall software

The camera database I use is the Tom Tom ov2 speed zoned. When I click on the download button the text on the PGPSW site just dissappears (the header info and left hand column remains) whereas with Internet Explorer I get the download window asking to open or save the file.
Normally with any other downloads Firefox saves the file to a predetermined location on my drive C.
Whilst I do have spybot and McAfee (Not Zone Alarm) installed this is the only download that fails and as I mentioned it works using Internet Explorer 7 which if need be I'll continue to use, but it's a bit of a mystery. (I use Windows XP sp2)

Seeing you have success with Internet Explorer, do you have any Firefox Add-Ons that might block pop-ups.

I have Addblock running, but had to 'allow' downloads from the PSGW site.

Thanks for the suggestion. The only 'add-on' was Piclens which I've now removed but the problem remains....

I have just this minute upgraded to 3.0.1, on Windows XP X64bit and a download which worked fine.

I noticed during the upgrade that certain things weren't supported, but then WERE found later and updated. Specifically IE Tab, which I have on my Firefox - I don't know if this has any effect, but when I got it, I did so on recommendation of someone here (Andy_P) to help with downloads or something - so long ago I can't remember.

Small update. FF3 seems to have miraculously cured a number of niggles which have crept into my communications recently. The internet now loads incredibly faster and tonight when I logged into Outlook Express, all my mail was there by the time I looked up from my fingers on the keyboard!
