OK, so i have just recieved a second hand HP Ipaq ( I cant remember the model number it is very complicated, its the one with nevo home control (great fun) ).

I also have a Fortuna BT Bluetooth GPS clip-on dongle thing.

Now on my Ipag i have been trying to get winfast navigator to connect to it, with little success.

There are many different settings, i have managed to work out that the bluetooth out port is COM 6.

But i am having some right trouble, there is a switch on the side of the dongle labeled "ST" and "XT".

My brother left no instructions and i am thoroughly bamboozled.

Any help?

Hi Calvyn_Harkness,

Welcome to the forum! Thumbs Up

Are you using a CF or SD card?
Some iPAQs didn't like to use Bluetooth GPS units when you used an SD card. this is easily overcome by using a CF card.

Secondly, try switching the infra red function off as that sometimes caused an issue.

Regards,

What version of Windows is it running?

You may be better to delete the original pairing of the PDA to the BT GPS and start from scratch. But make sure you know what hte pairing code is before you do this. It's usually 0000 but some manufacturers make it different.

If your system is running some sort of GPS port sharing sharing software, disable this. WM5 introduced this feature and it can cause problems with some applications. Seems to work better with WM6.

On my DELL Axim WM5 (and WM6) give me ports 6 and 7 for my BT GPS(es).

Does THIS assist, it certainly explains the two switch positions ST and XT which might help and the confusion the switch can lead to - Mike
