I have downloaded and unzipped the Speed Cameras successfully.
I have moved them to the correct map for my Tom Tom Go 700.
However I cannot see them listed under POI
There does not appear to be a 'Manage (or Maintain) POI' option under Preferences. |

Could you tell us what database you are using, TT or PGPS. The reason i ask is because TT will not show up as POI's, They have moved them to the PLUS services menu instead however the PGPS ones should show up in the POI menu and something must be wrong. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

If you cannot see the ""Manage POIs" menu, it sounds like you have not got "show all menu items" selected in the preferences? |

The database appears to be PGPS. One of the files is named 'pocketgps_eur_pmobile.ov2'. I have dragged them into the European Map located in Tom Tom (Listed as 'E' drive under my computer) However they are not displayed as a POI. |

The Speed cameras are not displayed as a POI, depsite being listed in the European map which i am using. This is verified by searching Tom Tom listed as and external drive under My computer. |

Where did you download the files from Paul? |

Have to ask... where did it come from then, if not from here? |

It did come from here, assuming 'here' is PocketGPS World.
I have however solved the issue. There are 2 folders on my Tom Tom 700. One named Western_Europe-Map, the other is titled Western Europe. If the files are copied into the latter one all appears to work as it should. Which slightly contradicts the set up instructions. Thanks for your help though. |

Have you upgraded your map? It sounds like you have two WE maps installed, if you copy the POIs into a map that is not active then you wouldn't see them, you would if you switched to that map though. Obviously having tow maps of the same region is of little benefit and our instructions can't take account of such an issue.
You may want to switch to the other map and note it's version. Decide which map you wish to use and then take a backup of the other and remove it from your device. _________________ Darren Griffin |

You are right I have upgraded the map so that could be the issue. Though there is only one shown when looking at the Manage Maps option and that is the one I selected. I will take your advise and thanks for the speedy reply. |

I have done some further investigation. When an updated Map is installed it appears to remove the previous version. But it leaves the folder still in the system with some minor items still in it (Just a few MB's). The new map folder does have a different name (Western Europe in this case). I guess this could cause issues for other users trying to use your database if they have updated like me. |

Unfortunately there is no way of 'second-guessing' TomTom's rather random naming policy for each new version of their maps.
As such, we always try to say something like "put the POI files in your map folder ("Western_Europe", "UK+IE", or whatever)".
If we were to list every single map folder name, the list would be longer than the rest of the instructions! |
