Hello,
I am sorry if this has been covered before, but I am probably the least technically minded person on this forum. I have just bought a LG LN500 because it was reasonable price at Halfords. I've never owned a SAT NAV before this and this is my entry into it.
The problem is that I have tried to down load the Free POI's from this website, but I am running into problems. I down load the subjects I'm interested in as zipped files. I started by unzipping the files and tried down loading them using the supplied Destinator Console via Favorites Importer. I press convert and it shows no data. I then use it with the zipped file and get it loaded onto the sat nav, but when I go into favourites and then POIs, I just get a lot of random letters and symbols.
I then tried unzipping the files and loading them as .csv files using Activesync, but just get one line of co-ordinates.

This is my first time ever and I am struggling and modern technology worries me, so please forgive me. I would like to down load the speed camera database in the near future, but am very wary of paying for it if I can't get the basics right.
Best wishes,
Steve

Hi and welcome.

First of all if you download too many POI categories at once you may end up with corrupt files. Can you open the csv files in Excel or notepad and tell me what you see. Just one or two lines will do.

Try just downlaoding one category and see if you can import that.

Hello,
Many thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I've opened up the superstores file (I work for a supermarket) in Excel and I have longitude (column A), latittude (B), name (C) and details (D).

I will try downloading smaller files and see what happens.

Many thanks,
Steve
