I have been playing around with disabling the auto-zoom feature and actually been finding it handy to have it set at a nice zoomed out scale for the whole lenght of a journey.

However, once I have turned off the unit it then goes back to the default startup zoom scale, which i then have to rezoom out to start again.

I have checked the option setting and it stays set as disabled.

I would have thought that once you have set it to disable - and you set your zoom scale level it would all stick. - why does it want to go back to a close zoomed up level when i turn the unit back on?

Thanks

I haven't got mine to check but I think that disabling auto-zoom stops it zooming into the map when you are at junction turns. Not sure though. Confused

Have you tried using 2D mode? It may be better for how you wish to use the device.

Thanks Gerry,

I dont actually want it to zoom in at junctions though, i just want it to stay put at the zoomed out level i set it to.

It does stay once the zoom out level is set, except once its turned off and on again. - Disabled setting does stay set.
My config files are not read only.
