There is a major new dual carriageway that opened a couple of months ago between Leighton Buzzard and Milton Keynes. I've used the Tomtom home application to make sure I have the latest updates, but this road isn't appearing. I also used the map update feature to inform Tomtom of this road a few weeks ago. What am I doing wrong? |

Nothing... except you are expecting electronic maps to be up to date!
I'm afraid you're in for a big disappointment. Maps for all Sat Nav systems are usually around TWO YEARS behind reality. Some new roads get added quicker, some take even longer. There is a current topic about a missing road that was completed five years ago.
Also, there is no current technology that can UPDATE an existing map to show new roads. TomTom's new Map Share system, does much less than the advertising hype leads you to believe. It can only correct road names and change the traffic direction on existing roads.
There is a new map release due (for sale, not free) in a month or two, and I very much doubt if your new bypass will even be on that! |

Those sort of features on the Map are not changeable in a MapShare update. They will only come into force in the next Map Version ..... if we're lucky.
It can take quite a while for it to filter through. It depends on when TeleAtlas was first made aware of the change. _________________ Richard

Can you please post the map coordinates for this road, ie lattitude and longitude. |
