Hi all,

I have just had my 920T delivered this morning, Made a back up on TomTom home and set a passcode on start-up.

All was well i though then when i disconected the TomTom and powered it up i went strait to the PIN number input page but to my horror it's stuck on number 6!!!

I tried reconecting it to my PC but it says you can only turn the PIN feature off on the 920T...

Any help please???

Big thanks,

Mark...

Please have a read at the FAQ's in this thread and also do a back-up with windows explorer it is much safer.

Is the password stuck on 6 when you switch it on.

I looked at the FAQ's but could not see anythink relevent to this problem,

And it goes strait to the number input screen and when i touch the first number it goes to number 6 and ficks between 6 and the number i'm touching...

So if you are touching the screen it is pressing roundabout where you are touching rather than the point you are touching.

Yes Ian,

When i touch one point it seems as if i'm touching another, This happens on all screens and after that it won't react to some touches at all...

It sounds as if you need your screen calibrated. Not sure how to do this but you somehow need to get the password in to get it turned on. Not sure how you can achieve that with the fault you are having. Hang tight and i will look into it and hopefully someone else will also help.

If you connect the unit to your computer this should by-pass the code and connect to your computer. Can you do that ok.

Thank god for that. You should disable the password for the meantime till you get it sorted.

When i said have a look at the FAQ's i was meaning since you have just got your machine their is alot of help and answers in there for you and also the best way to back-up and look after your TT.

I've been looking at the forum and noticed some post relating to low battery level problems and i'm wondering if it could be connected to that???

That sounds very much like debris has got down the edge of the screen, try inserting a sheet of paper between the screen and the bezzel, run it around the four edges of the screen to shift any dirt that is applying pressure to the screen.
Or, have you still got the screen protector fitted? - if so remove it, I have seen similar faults before that were caused by a screen protector with a small bubble of air trapped, as it warms up the air expands applying pressure to the screen and the device reponds by thinking you have pressed the screen - Mike

It is possible. The best thing to do is create a back-up using windows explorer aswell as TT Home. Home is known to be unpredictable if you need to restore a back-up. Also fully charge your TT and see if the problem persists. If it does it might need to be exchanged for another.

Might try "restore factory settings" option as well; don't know if this will have any effect on screen calibration, but it probably can't hurt.
