Sorry if this is answered elsewhere on the site, but I'm new to all this and couldn't actually find an answer.
I'm running Navigator 5.0 on an iPaq 5450 (which Tomtom tell me wont run Navigator 6) and I've got UK map version V571, and I wondered if there is a more up to date map that I can get. When I raised the question with Tomtom "help" all they said was "We no longer supply Navigator 5, and the Navigator 6 Maps are not compatible". Do they not know the term backwards compatibility?
So if anyone knows what the latest UK map is and where I can get it from...
Thanks |

I have TT5 on my Ipaq 4700. I am using European map version 6.60. I got this from TomTom about a year ago (I think) and I cannot remember what I paid for it (but 99 euros rings a bell).
I don't know if TT still offer this. I can't see it on theie web site.

Be aware there were two different versions of the v660 maps one for TTN5 and the other for TTN6 so make sure you get the correct one (if it is still available) - Mike |

Cheers Alan, unfortunately TomTom no longer offer the V5 maps, and has stated that the V6 Navigator maps are not compatible with V5! So if anyone knows of any other sources at all?

Neil, if TomTom no longer offer them then there are no other legitimate sources. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I too am in a similar position - TTN5 on an ipaq2210 (not compatible with TTN6) - and I need a later map version to get me a map of Ireland where I need to travel in a month or two.
Not sure I like the way TomTom are doing business!
What are we supposed to do? - I'm quite willing to pay - would it be that difficult for TomTom to continue to sell the maps for longer, even if they no longer support the software? I note that TTN5 (and even TTN3) software upgrades are still downloadable, so why not the maps? |

Is the 2210 really not compatible with v6? I must dig mine out and see. _________________ Darren Griffin |

If you find the old ipaq works there is no excuse for not loading Pointui then you can try it out, OK no phone capability but the rest should work - might give the old girl a new lease of life - Mike |

Hey - it would be good if the 2210 did work with TTN6, but it's not listed on the list compatibles. |

I've just found my 2210's hiding place and will get it all charged up and tested today, I'll report back. _________________ Darren Griffin |

It's always worth trying TT6 but back-up first. My old iPAQ 1940 works perfectly well with 6.03. You might not get support from TT (although I have in the past) but there's usually someone on the forums that knows the answers. _________________ TT Go Essential |
