will a gps mouse run without a PDA

Everytime I plug in my PDA, there is a delay for the unit to find a lock (maybe up to 5mins). If I wire the mouse (Haicom 203) so that it is powers continously will it hold a lock even if the PDA is not connected?

yes, the mouse is independent. If it stays powered on then the least thing it will do is remember its last position. If it has sky view it will continue to update its position.
