How do I find out if speed cameras are enabled on my TT One XL?

The box says it comes with pre-installed database of UK speed cameras but I don't know how to check.

Also, it came with a latest map guarantee which says for an update in the 1st 30 days of use. How do they know when you first used it? Can I save my code for when the 2008 maps come out?

Thanks in advance. Loving it so far, great gadget.

Cheers

Alex

I'm no expert with TomTom's cameras because I don't use them. You have to enable them in the TomTom PLUS Services menu of your device. Then ....
1. Prepare a route whilst sitting comfortably at home, making sure it goes past a camera you know.
2. Tap bottom right of screen, then Details, then Demo. Choose a speed not greater than 200% and sit and watch for the camera to show up and bleep at you.

Do a bit of reading in this web site BEFORE you decide to subscribe to Tom Tom's camera service as most of us think it's very poor compared with the one available here from PocketGPSWorld.

Latest Map Guarantee is supposed to work when you are in Tom Tom Home, but at present, it doesn't!! The theory (we all guess, cos' nobody knows for sure) is that the device makes its own record internally when you first fire it up. Then the 30 days starts counting, so you can't save the guarantee for next year.

However, as I said, it's not working yet. Spend an era reading this thread which, at the time I write, has over 300 posts on the subject!!!

Thanks Dennis.

It beeped at me this morning when I passed a camera so I guess they are installed but as you say the PGPS database might be better in the long term.

I will check out the mapshare thing but I think I have the most up to date anyway so no major problems.

Cheers

Mapshare and the "Latest map guarantee" are two totally different things.
It's worth checking out Mapshare.
