Mapshare Corrections not on the NEXT map

You know we have all been making these corrections to our maps?

You know we've slowly realised that only very limited types of
changes can actually get updated onto our existing maps?

You know we've also realised that we are reporting all these corrections and that TT are going to charge us for the new map having used our corrections?

WELL THEY AREN'T EVEN DOING THAT!!

The "next" map is already here. I downloaded a v710 WE map for a friend a couple of days ago, and the first couple of Mapshare corrections that I'd made on my v705 map and that have been "verified" by TomTom are NOT on the raw v710 map.

I'm not talking about major new roads either. Just simple road NAME corrections.

SO WHAT'S THE POINT?? if TomTom aren't going to use these Mapshare corrections, we are no better than when they ignored the corrections we did in the old way!

(We also cannot get Mapshare to work for him, so we don't know if the Mapshare corrections from v705 will get applied to the v710 map (TomTom implied they WOULDN'T), or if he's got to make and upload the SAME corrections that we have all made all over again.

Anyone got Mapshare working on a 710 map on a 700 yet?

yeah, kind of sucks because TomTom and TeleAtlas are not the same company (yet) and don't seem to work together on the updates. Nothing set to implement Mapshare data into new maps, just download them into existing maps that are updated with data from mapshare users. It appears that 705 data will not ever be in the 710 maps unless users update it again, and the same problem will exist on the next set of maps, etc.
Users will need to see what, if any changes were made by TeleAtlas, and then update them with TomTom again via mapshare for others to download.
Kind of like re-creating the wheel every time. And when the next major map is released that TT want you to BUY, it will most likely have more errors that your older map that has been actually corrected by users. Kind of stinks...
