i recently purchased a tomtom one 3rd edition usa & canada. it is always off by one avenue but the streets are dead on. Has anyone else had this problem or know of any possible fixes?

Sorry you've had no replies, but (for me) it's a little hard to understand what you are describing...

Firstly, in the UK the words "street" and "avenue" are pretty interchangeable. Some roads are called "abc Road", some "abc Street", some "abc Avenue" or whatever.

Secondly, what do you actually mean when you say "it is always off by one avenue"? Are you saying that when you are navigation, the unit thinks it is on the wrong road?


If so, there's a couple of things I can think of:
1. do you have a good satellite fix? How many "good" (blue) bars are showing on the GPS status screen when it happens (it's in the menu on v6 software or in v7 tap the signal bars on the main screen then tap signal bars again on the next screen).
2. Do you have a route planned? You will find the unit will disguise any discrepancy it has in position by "assuming" you must be on the road it expects you to be on if it hasn't got a very good signal.
3. Have you tried a reset? Once or twice my TomToms have started jumping to an adjacent road and a reset sorted it out.
