fatal aplication error on medion mdpna 150

hi ive recently bought this satnav off a friend for cheap as he cant get it working. every thing loads fine but when i select the navigator i get this error message.

Fatal Application Error.
Application Navigator.EXE has performed an illegal Operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

Program: Navigator.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005
Address: 000E2AC4

1. Try a normal soft reset.
2. Try a hard reset if that didn't work.
3. Try a re-install as follows:

Did you get the support CDs with it?

Borrow another SD or MMC card (256MB to 2GB), copy all the required setup files to it as instructed on the CD, then power off the unit (slide switch), change the card, switch on and the re-installation process should begin.

You may be able to repeat this with the original card if the re-install was successful with the new card.
