Clean Install

Being a bit Anal I thought I'd try a clean install of my OneXL on an empty SD Card. This is only possible as I have a download folder with the firmware and maps in.

This is how I done it and what files and folders were created:

Using TomTom Home Add maps, traffic, voices etc Items on My Computer

Application Ver 7.162
gns folder
antitheftw.bmp
data.chk
install.bif
mctx.dat
tomtom.ico
ttsystem

Maps Ver 710
united_kingdom_and_republic_of_ireland folder

Voices
Voices folder

QuickGPS fix
ephem folder

Phone conection settings
connect2internet.db
connect2internet.ver
connect2internet.so

I then manually transferred these files and folders from a backup.
helpme folder
zip folder (ver 701)
raster folder
splashw.bmp
Poi's

Other files and folders were created on the first bootup.

This all worked fine but being the person that I am I'd like to know more about what each files function is. So could we use this thread to explain each files use (if known) or is there another thread somewhere with more info in.
