I've tried at least 10 times over the last couple of days to download POIs for my TT GO 720. I select the categories and subcategories I want, tick 'Combine subcategories . . .' and click 'Download'. The file downloads but when I try to open it I get the message "The compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted".

If I tick 'Show link', when I click 'Download' it returns a DNS error. I've tried refreshing, but it tells me to select some categories.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong, please?

Can you try with a single category and let us know what happens?

Same problem here, the COMBINE SUBCATEGORIES option DOES NOT WORK with either IE 6 or 7, Firefox or Mozilla.

It downloads and unzips fine with only one category or subcategory and 'Show link' ticked. Haven't tried it without.

Should have said I'm running Win XP and IE6.

Ok, I need to get MaFt to look at this but it may not be until Monday, bear with us and we will investigate!

This is the problem you get if trying to download in excess of 22 sub-categories, and combining. If not being combined then it is not a problem.

See Here.

Thanks for your help, Richard, and for the link. I hadn't followed the thread before, as until now I've been using MaFt's POIs on a Garmin i3.

I've just downloaded and installed Opera, as suggested by Oldie, but whether I tick 'Show link' or not I'm getting the error message "You tried to access the address http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=POIs&Download, which is currently unavailable." Maybe I should leave it and try again tomorrow.

Is the 22 limit for subcategories when using IE per category or per download?

Thanks for your help too, Darren. Please don't waste MaFt's time, as it seems from the link Richard gave that it's already been looked into. If I can't get the files via Opera I'll have a go at downloading the CSV files and using one of Oldie's converters.

Just had a play, and with Firefox I seem to have a limit of 25 sub-categories. Confused

That's 25 sub-categories, in any one category, with as many categories as you feel you need, in one download. You can always merge those categories, that are split, with POIEdit or POIConverter

If you exceed the 'magic number' on just one category it dies. Sad

Thanks for the clarification, Richard.

I've made sure I've included no more than 22 subcategories per category, and was able to download and unzip the file and copy it to the 720 without any problems. Very Happy
