GPSworld slows down my TOMTOM!!!

I have TOMTOM 6 on a MIO 210 PDA. Downloading speedcams from GPSworld to Checkpoint6 slows the map display down to an unusable speed and my voices do not work. Voices are wav files and I am using the single file cams list. Any suggestions?

Try using the inbuilt POI warner within the TomTom application, when coupled with OGG audio files it can offer a very close capability to that of CheckPOI without the overhead.

Another tip is to go to Change Preferences / Enable_Disable POI and uncheck all the PocketGPS camera files within that menu, this reduces the processor burden which is known to affect the PDA software and return the screen refresh rate to normal - Mike

And it's not PocketGPSWorld that is the issue, it's your device/software is not able to handle the number of POIs involved regardless of where they originated from.

As Mike says, ditch CheckPOInt and use the built-in POI Alert functionality which will place a much smaller overhead on your processor.
