I am off on a plant photography trip and have a lot of GPS coordinates of where the plants can be located. I have bought a Garmin 60 for the job.

Can anyone tell me how to input the coordinates so that I can find them. There are too many to just look at the unit to see when I am near

I have never used a GPS other than Jane in the car telling me to turn round when possible

I have groups of orchids marked on my 60c.. You can give each coordinate a name then press the "find" button and it will list them all starting with the one nearest to you.You can build the list on the unit or in Mapsource on the PC and load them to the unit B4 you set off.

Hi,

You don't say what form the co-ordinates are in, nor what accessories may have been bundled with the GPS60. But if you have a large number of waypoints, then you will probably want to enter them on a PC.

Typically, you will need a cable, either USB or serial (COM port) depending on your devices. Then, some software on the PC such as Garmin Mapsource Trip and Waypoint Manager (which has just a basic World map), OS mapping such as Memory Map, or you could start with some free/shareware such as GPSUtility.

Cheers, Alan.
