Recently had a lot of bother with my 510 locking on to a sat. Seems to take for ever and sometimes I may be at my destination before it gets its act together.

I think the battery in the unit is on its way out/already gone as it wont hold a charge. Would this be a contributory factor in locking to a sat? I ask because I may get a new battery from EBAY and fit it. No point if the unit has other problems e.g. sat locking

TIA

If you are connected to power, despite a low battery, I would have thought that it would not make a difference. How long has this been a problem?. Do you always try to get an acquisition before starting to drive off? You should! Have you tried reloading the maps and software by doing a hard reset? Might help. Confused
Strangely, I have had a problem in the last week or so with getting any signal for my TMC unit and have put this down to the bad weather, huge cloud cover etc. but perhaps I'm just clutching at straws. Wink
