I use TomTom here in the UK and in April I am going on a short holiday to LA. What's the best way of getting suitable maps for me use with TomTom while I am over there? |

Well, until TomTom introduce the "holiday maps" concept for the US you will have to cough up the money to purchase the complete US Map version. Resellers are mentioned on the TomTom web site.
If it is just for a brief visit then you may want to consider alternatives. Mapopolis can be downloaded from the web, and their maps can be tested for 10 days free. _________________ Lutz

Thanks for such a swift reply Lutz, within 2 minutes! Mapopolis, is that a piece of software similar to TomTom, or is it just a map? I haven't heard of this software. |

It is a navigation program, similiar to TomTom, but with a more american touch regarding usability (don't ask me to expand on this topic, you risk being bored to death). check their site www.mapopolis.com _________________ Lutz

|
Can Navigator USA maps just be dropped onto a SD card and used with my existing version of TomTom Navigator 2 (European)? Or will I need to load the USA version of Navigator? |

Yes, you can use the US maps with your existing program (which is the same byte code anyway) but you need to get a registration code for the maps. _________________ Lutz
