It depends if your car has a UV coated windscreen or a heater coil running through it. UV screens will dampen GPS signals, some heater coils may cause problems in the windscreen but some are okay.

Found position of GPS very critical in my car Citroen C3, not at all in front, acceptable sometimes on rear parcel shelf but sensitive, a 4 inch movement created 'GPS not found' very regularily

Have now installed external antenna, and seems to have done the job. Very pleased, very neat little black box with mag mount, wires easy to hide, and this allows GPS to stayat front so I can switch it on and off and recharge from cable off Loox. Now get 7 to 10 sats.

next job to try in different vehicles, won't take ext aerial off, but hope it will work. Trying in Spain in a Smart car.

This is due to PSA using the solar refelective coating on all their vehicles which effectively blocks the signal. You should however be able to receive a signal if the receiver is placed wither in the very bottom left or right of the screen or directly behind the interior mirror (where the block of black dots is printed on the glass).

I'm surprised that you had problems when placed on the rear parcel shelf as the rear screen is rarely coated but it could be the de-mister. At least with the external antenna you have covered all bases now so should be able to get a signal regardless of vehicle Thumbs Up
