next version of tomtom

done a search but couldn't see anything ......
but i am just curious when is the next version of tomtom coming out as i am still using tomtom 5 on a now very old xda2i and am wanting to upgrade to a tomtom 1v2 and would rather have the newer version unless you can upgrade tomtom 1's with newer versions

You cannot use a Pocket PC version on a Linux device and vice versa.

On the Pocket PC the latest version is 6.030, on Linux 6.522

thanks for the reply ,although i knew they aren't interchangeable
but i just want to know if i buy a tom tom 1v2 with tomtom 6 and if say tomtom 7 comes out will i have to buy a new tomtom 1or can just get a new card with tt7 on

Well the original ONE V1 came with software version 5.xxx and can now use version 6.xxx so there is no reason to suspect that it won't be able to use version 7.xxx if and when it becomes available. There is no ONE V2, btw.
