free map update ?

I bought a TT one new type for the missus last month, after registering it on TomTom site i found that a map update was released about a week prior to my buying it.
I have tried contacting TomTom without success asking them if I am entitled to a free update.
Do TomTom offer this service as Garmin do, if you buy after the update you get it free, or is it just "tough".
I bought it from PC World. Should they offer the update via a voucher or similar.
TT just dont seem to want to reply.

TomTom have always been very loathe to give free updates (except in the USA for some reason).
However, this time, they have grudgingly offered them, so long as you complain enough.
Have a look HERE for some success stories. Smile

Thanks for pointing me at that thread. I guess I should learn to search the forums better before I stampede towards the "new thread" button. Embarassed

I'll keep bothering TT until I get some sort of reply.
