At about 7.15am (BST) today, my Mio suddenly lost the plot.

After giving a correction instruction, the map suddenly began moving in jerky motions instead of scrolling smoothly and it was showing a position anything up to 1/2 mile from where I actually was - even in the middle of fields/golf courses etc at times. Crying or Very sad

This went on for a few minutes, so I tried a hard reset - no difference :o

I checked the satellite reception and it showed a good signal from at least 6 or 7 satellites :o

Then suddenly, after about 10 minutes, it started behaving perfectly again Confused

I travel this route on a daily basis and this is the first time I've experienced anything like this - so I know it's not a mapping or software error.

Has anybody else experienced anything similar Question

Have the Americans been playing with the GPS satellites Question

It was a lovely sunny morning, without a cloud in the sky and on an open road without trees or buildings to interfere with satellite reception.

My C710 with the "first" 3.2 has done that a couple of times. No idea why. It is OK when you know where you are and know it has gone bananas, but in a strange place when you need a turn instruction NOW it is a bit of a pain. :-)

Yes, my Mio 168 with CoPilot 5 decided to throw a wobbly this morning at around 0900 leaving Wetherby to join the A1. Erratic screen as if suffering the "shakes", then it recovered it's senses about 10 minutes later. Weird!

I'm led to believe that this phenomenon is caused by the unit overheating. Sad

I must say that I'm NOT convinced...

...why should it act up on a mild spring morning, but behave perfectly on a hot summer's day with the sun beating down on it, or in the middle of winter when the car heater is on at full blast Question
