|
|
Hi
I have downloaded some track files (formats GPX and PLT) which I have managed to convert to OV2 and load on a newly acquired TT Go 710. However, the device shows some POIs but not the track itself, and this is useless since these are hiking trails that are not included inside the maps that came with the device.
I have looked into the forums and found no clue on how to display the actual itinerary on the Tomtom Go 710. Can anybody help?
Also, can I get my device to record a track of a real itinerary, for later retrieval?
Thanks

The TT Go range of devices are primarily used for road navigation and not intended for off-road use.
You would be better off using a hand-held GPS for this sort of application. If all you want to show is a track/route and some waypoints then any of the low-end GARMIN units (non-mapping units) should suffice. _________________ Phil |

You can get the device to log a journey by installing a third party application, I use NMEA Logger from This Web site, there are some other applications for the TomTom on the same site.
Note this produces a log of the GPS data which can then be converted using GPS Babel for other purposes, your TomTom will not display the data though - Mike |

Thank you for your suggestion. I was already aware of that, problem is my TTG 710 is a present, and cannot be changed...

As a workaround, wouldn't it be simple to have a software like Babel translate a GPX or PLT track or route into a series of POIs that could be shown on the TT Go? Does anybody know of such an utility?
Thanks again
Laurent
