Looking at the manual for this GPS and other web pages it would appear that the internal rechargeable battery cannot be replaced when exhausted.
Given these batteries are good for a couple of hundred charges this could be a problem .

Garmin offer fairly good customer services, and have fixed price repair services (which often result in Garmin simply shipping out a brand new replacement model). So, yes, it's something to worry about, but not for a while.

Although the battery is not user replaceable, I suspect Garmin will be able to replace it.

Mind you, I can't think of any other SatNav unit where the rechargeable battery is user replaceable either, although I'm sure there must be some.
