I'm sure I read how to format text in a Garmin POI CSV file so that you force line breaks where you want and get a better layout on the nuvi screen.

I thought some double-quotes were involved, but I've tried and failed. Also the forum search has failed me on this occasion.

Anyone?

...talking to myself here... Wink

The answer is to be found at http://www.poi-factory.com/garmin-csv-file-format and, to make myself clearer, it was the description I wanted to split over separate lines.

The answer is to put double quotes around the description field and you can then put newlines inside the description text. This is a bit weird because you get multi-line entries in the CSV file.

Pete.

P.S. - If like me you are using Excel to manage the CSV file, you can enter a newline into a cell using "ALT-Enter".

How about exploring the wonderful world of .gpx files, rather than sticking with the limitations of .csv files. Exclamation
