As Bluetooth devices tend to be, by design, portable a field in the database showing the weight of the device would be really useful.
This at least would enable an analysis of the trade off of battery duration against (presumably) increase in weight.
I appreciate that the manufactures don't always provide the information, but a quick trip to the bathroom scales during the evaluation should suffice!
And it's surprising how much difference those extra grams can make after a 30 Km walk!

I'd be a little worried if bathroom scales could discriminate between Bluetooth GPSes (I presume you were thinking of finding out how heavy your rucsac is).

Decent scales that can discriminate relatively small masses can be expensive (my background is in chemistry - I have a fair idea how much an electronic balance that reads accurate to the nearest milligram is and what precautions you have to take when working at that accuracy - there again, we don't need milligram or even the more common 10 milligram type of lab balance here - a 2g or even 5g accuracy unit will suffice). In most cases the information should be obtainable from the specifications - and a quick cross-check with a reasonable set of postal scales may also be worthwhile (particularly if they're an electronic set).

I agree - if possible, it would be useful to have this data (and for the HI-401 Bluetooth slipper figure to include the mass of the GPS!).
