I've just downloaded a map upgrade for tomtom navigator 5 (which was a dreadful experience) and also upgraded? to navigator 6.010 but now my speed camera and all other POI's are not working at all. They still appear to be the map folder but are not accessible - any suggestions please?

You need to manually move your POIs (and favoutites, Home location etc.) across to the new map's folder.
Try this:
"Get Your Home location, Favourites And Pois Working When You've Bought A New Map"

Just a thought, but have you renabled them from the enable/disable POI option menu? I think you will have to set up your distance warnings again.
