|
|
Hi all,
I've just updated my map to the new v660 GB & Republic of Ireland map (via download from TomTom). I'm using app version 6.010 on an iPAQ 2210.
Everything worked fine and installed OK, but I don't seem to have road speed limit information any more. It could just be that I haven't yet driven down any roads with speed limit information, but it worked fine on my previous map - now all I get is just my current speed, '30mph', instead of the usual '28/30' etc.
Is this data embedded in the map data? Or has something gone wrong with my installation, and I'm missing a file somewhere?
Or have TomTom just left this data out of the latest UK map? (after all, it wasn't exactly 100% accurate before.... ;-)
Thanks for your help. |

Not much help but I've got the V660 map of Western Europe also downloaded from TomTom site and this DOES have the speed limit data although as you said it is not very accurate.
30 MPH limits on some motorways, 70MPH limits on some residential streets - very odd! |

I've got the UK and IE v6.60 as well. I've noticed that the speed indication e.g. 30/40 only appears on certain roads.
Is this because the software doesn't know the speed limits in certain areas?
Is this a visual aid only? _________________ Mike

Yeah, I'm not really missing the speed limit info, seeing as it's usually so inaccurate. In fact, some might say that I'm lucky to be able to 'turn it off' whilst still having my current speed displayed! It's more that I'm curious to know why it's stopped working really. Everythnig else is working absolutely fine.
SpikeyMikey - yes, you only get speed limit info on certain roads. Not all minor or B roads show it - in this case, you just get your current speed displayed (although, in my case, that's all I'm getting all the time!) |

Mapping isn't usually updated via TTHOME as you generally have to pay for these updates - it's down to licensing and the fees TomTom have to pay their provider(s). Application updates (and upgrades sometimes) are generally free. _________________ Phil |
