I've been using the kit-list above for about 8 months now, with the odd hiccup here and there.
Since about 3 days ago however, I cannot get TTN2 to automatically make a connection with my Emtac B/T GPS like it always has done when staring the TTN2 app....
To the best of my knowledge, nothing has changed on my iPaq - settings or software - and i haven't recently installed any other software.

i can get it to work, but have to do this:
close TTN2.
open b/t manager on my iPaq
search, and see the b/t gps.
click once on the gps icon for b/t manager to discover available services for this device
click on the "actions" option, and select "connect to serial port" or whatever it is.
then i get the GPS icon (OK, its a "?") with 2 small arrows showing comms is OK
then i go and fire up TTN2 and all is well.

Does anyone have any idea what's happened here/had the same problem??

TIA

David, what version of TTnav and GPS Info are you using? I recommend v2.07 of the GPS Info app, v.2.08 and v2.09 cause more issues than they solve and you should be able to have TTnav auto start the BG GPS in this config.

Also what OS is your 3970 using PPC2002 or 2003?

Hi Darren,
I'm on TTN2.24; GPS 2.08; OS is PPC2002.

i'm thinking this problem is something to do with another issue that has occurred on my home pc. I activesync with home PC using bluetooth. have done for ages.
For some reason, now when i go into the iPaq bluetooth icon to select "start activesync" [via bluetooth], instead of it opening the connection and getting on with it, there is a second, erroneous bluetooth serial port connection called "bluetooth serial" and NOT "bluetooth serial port" - which is the original, correct, connection. I now have to tell it which one to use for the sync process.
i'm not sure how this second "connection" option got in there - i haven't been messing about with my connections & settings, but i'm wondering if this is why TTN2 isnt hooking up to my b/t GPS straight away automatically, because it has more than one option to do it and doesn;t know which to use.........
having a hell of a job trying to track some option to "delete" this additional connection/link. it's not coming up anywhere in bluetooth manager app, or settings: connections options either.

I'm reckoning though this is the culprit. what do you think?

I'd start by reverting to v2.07 of the GPS app. v2.08 and later introduced a strange TT kludge which locks the BT Port to TTNav. We've told them about it and explained the many problems this has caused such as preventing access by other apps to the BT Com Port but they don't appear to be listening!

I have v2.07 available for download here.

Uninstall v2.08 and then install 2.07 and see if this resolves the issue?
