I've been using Copilot 6 for a while now and would like to try out the 'live' software.

I use Copilot on an iPAQ 3970, which has bluetooth. My mobile phoen also is bluetooth capable and has GPRS enabled on it. So I think I have all I need.

I can get the IPAQ associated with the phone no problem, but the iPAQ seems to always want to DIAL a connection and prompts for a number all the time.

Now since I am using GPRS there is no number to dial.

I wonder if anyone can offer me some advice on how to get past this hurdle?

Many thanks

Clive

Hi Clive,
There is a number associated with GPRS, for Vodafone it is *99#. You should have details in the phones settings otherwise suggest you give your airtime provider a call or try googling.

Phil,

Many thanks - I just tried *99# and it all started to work perfectly. The device is registered with the 'live' website and works a treat,

Many thanks

No problems glad to help. I've tried it myself in the past but sadly GPRS isn't that widespread on motorways so if you have someone tracking you, you can disappear for some time or even appear to be stopped so beware.

Cheers

Just in case anyone else reads this thread, there is a long form of the special number if you have multiple GPRS profiles on your phone. Each profile has a CID number, use *99***X# where X = 1,2,3,4,5 etc so use *99***2# for the profile CID=2.
