Hello y'all! I'm going to visit florida soon on a fly-drive holiday and am wondering if anyone knows if I can use the I3 out there and where I can get the map info from and how to load it onto my I3. I have a 1gb transflash card, can I copy the info from the original card onto it and then add more maps?
Any Help would be appreciated!
Thanks... |

yes mate you can use it in the states...you get a copy of city select usa, but thats expensive..or a copy of metroguide usa v4.01 which is routable but has 2001 maps, or any other metroguide usa and if you use metrowiz this will also give you routing...do a search there have been loads of threads on this subject... _________________ *************************** |

Hi,
I've tried to get a handle on this very same thing, but I can't find an idiots guide that I would have any confidence in i.e someone who's actually been through the process!
Have you browsed this thread:

If you get anywhere, please share your experiences! _________________ Garmin I3 October 2006

Thanks guys for the replies. It seems that after an extensive search thru the net, I am still no closer to figuring out how this can be done easily, ie. buying a map of the USA on a transflash card or even a DVD and loading it on, without any hassle. It may be that by the time you factor in the cost of the maps etc. it may be cheaper to buy a new Sat Nav whilst in Florida.I don't really want to add to my collection of 5 different systems tho! |
