Could someone tell me where I can find a map for TomTom2 of Jersey?

There are not any TomTom maps of Jersey.

I would not have thought there would be much need for a route planner to get around an Island only 9 miles x 4 miles with very few roads.

Oddly enough MS AutoRoute 2003 had roads in Jersey but 2004 has not.

I emailed that question to Tele Atlas a few months ago (I think in either July or August 2003). At that time they said that they were expanding their map coverage to include all the major islands outside the mainland of Great Britain, and they were hoping to include the Channel Islands in December 2003.

Now that was a few months ago and plans can change. I would like to think that, as it is now late December 2003, Tele Atlas would soon include all of the Channel Islands in their coverage. However TomTom have to then take the Tele Atlas map data and process it so that it can be used in TomTom Navigator 2. Whether a new map will soon be released or whether we will have to wait for TTNav3 is anybody’s guess. Dave might know, but even if he did, he probably wouldn’t be able to say due to nondisclosure agreements!

May I suggest that you contact both Tele Atlas and TomTom and ask when the Channel Islands and Jersey in particular will be available? They will hopefully take more notice if many people ask them.

MrT, yes Jersey is quite small, but believe me, it has an awful lot of small roads that crisscross the island. Even with an experienced navigator in the front passenger seat using the best maps available, travelling across Jersey is not easy if you are a visitor. Wink

In the page on TomTom listing City maps for the UK they list the City of "Jersay". I have never heard of it.

Being a non British company it would not suprise me in Jersey was included in the next release of the French version.

Unfortunately, while it does look remarkably like 'Jersay' could be a typo for 'Jersey', Jersay is actually a place in the county of North Lankarkshire. Sad
