I have a leadtek 9553 GPS , an HP IPAQ 4150 and memory map software.
I ot the leadtek device connected.. instructions in manual were to go to bluetooth manager..explore bluetooth device..
Initially I had problems, it detected a "Livebox" device of some sort.. But after unpugging the GPS, turning it off and on with the switch on the side, plugging it back in... i'm not quite sure why, but it detected it right. So it came up, and I established a connection to it.
My memory map software seemed to connect to it, but barely.. Satellites reception was minimal. When I told the software to get a position, it said "no signal".
I had the same problem with a GPS I tried a few years ago from expansys.
this can't be coincidence.. And leadtek is meant to be a good make

What is going on?
it connects and finds enough satellites when i'm outside. My memory map software find a position. though I can't get the software doesn't do much else at the moment! But the GPS works outside..
when it connects to the IPAQ the blue flashing light goes steady.
a green light flashes indicates searching for satellites, then when it gets nearer to getting a fix it flashes less frequently, eventually not flashing at all, when it gets a fix.
I'm very unimpressed with it. I lose my satellite fix as soon as I walk into a shop. I'll look for a later model that allows an antenna to be plugged in.
