I'm expecting delivery of a Fujitsu Siemens n560 and can't make up my mind whether to get Navigator 6 or Destinator 6.

Which is best? Can anyone help me make up my mind. Confused

TIA
Duncan

Neither!

l'll explain.....

tomtom 6 and destinator 6 are both very good. tomtom is probably a bit easier to use & is more customizable (extra voices, colour schemes etc) though destinator 6 is very good straight out of the box ie the voice guidance is a woman with a 'normal' accent compared with the very posh (to me anyway) standard tomtom british voices.

All in all l'd rate them equally apart from in the mapping.

Firstly l assume that you are going to be using the sat nav in the U.K

O.k Tomtom for its national maps uses Teleatlas mapping & Destinator uses NavTeq. In my opinion & usage of both over a couple of years, Navteq maps are more accurate in the U.k. Streets that have been on Navteq maps since the 2006.1 releases are still not on Teleatlas tomtom maps that were releases a couple of weeks ago (v.675 build 1419) l also find that Navteq maps are better at identifying one way streets.

Others may disagree with the above, but l've used tomtom, destinator, route66, igo & navigon over a couple of years all over the U.k and now only use satnav software that uses navteq maps.

So you should get destinator 6? Definitely.....not! Wait a couple more weeks as Destinator 7 is being released with 2007 maps.

If you decide to ignore my advice and go with tomtom 6, try to get hold of the western europe tomtom map v660.1256 as its by navteq. also check out tomtom's website and download the male and female irish voices, the female one is especially good.

Thanks for the info. I'm not in a great rush, so I'll take your advice and wait.

Thanks
