OK, I've been doing a lot of reasearch lately, read all the FAQs etc.... and I'm suffering from information overload!

I'm totally new to GPS, but here is what I'd like to do:

Use the device in my car and also on my motorcycle for point-to-point driving directions.

I'd also like to have the option of using it outside the vehicle on walks, etc.

device needs to have:
clear color maps/graphics
plenty of memory for all maps I might need on multi-day trips
voice commands, with headphone jack
power options so I don't need to worry about battery life in the car
suitably rugged for motorcycle use

Right now, I think I want/need a PDA or a Pocket PC based set-up, however, with so many options, I'm at a loss.....

Do I decide on a GPS receiver first, and search for compatible hardware, or get the PC/PDA first and shop for the GPS?

Someone please steer me in the right direction!!

Thx.

You should go for a BlueTooth GPS receiver. (By the way, BlueTooth is also used for some headsets... )

This then obviously influences the selection of the Pocket PC - make sure it has BlueTooth and at least one memory card slot. Is screen size important? Would an HP iPAQ 2215 be too small?
