Hi All,
I previously had the speed camerra database on my unit and downloaded the latest POI database last night. By uploading the new POI's I lost the camera database, which I believe is because I put the new POI's in a separate folder on my pc to the camera database and believe I need to place them together to get both on the C310 - is that right?
What I have a real question about is my 256mb SD card doesn't appear big enough to store all the data as I got an error message when I tried to load the POI data anyway (something abuot too many POI categories). I deleted various files and eventually managed to upload the remainder, but can someone explain why I couldn't store more as looking at the properties of the card now it says only 156mb are used and 86mb are free. Unfortunately my home pc doesn't read SD cards so I couldn't check capacity last night and my work pc won''t download from this site due to our firewall! |

i have the c510 the limit does not appear to be the amount of pois but the amount of sub chapters eg asda, fuel, banks etc, I put to many on my card and my unit wouldnt boot up. I reduced the amount of sub chapters but kept the same pois by cut and paste in excel and it works fine

or you could use the 'combine sub-categories' method when you download them

Thanks guys. I've only just seen the replies, so I'll try these suggestions tonight.
By the way, am I right that I should be able to combine the camera POI's with the other POI's so that I can have both databases installed (effectively using one composite database)? Do you know how many sub-categories my unit can then handle e.g. if the answer were 6, I could (I think) combine all the cameras into 1 sub-category, banks/ATM's into another, shops another, etc as long as I don't exceed the 6 limit - is my understanding correct? And I do all the merging/sub-categorising in Excel? |

Just to advise that I have managed to transfer the main data I wanyed. The limitation was the amount of data rather than number of folders, so I deleted various rows in the excel files. I've posted this note as it may help other users.
Cheers,
