import/export settings

I apologise if this has been answered before, how do I export / import settings. I have gone from the standard GB map to the western europe map and would like all my settings(interface, poi settings etc) to be restored.

Where is the edit function?
mapsettings.cfg.

Is there a desktop tool to edit these and other config files ?
