I e mailed POI handler because their speed camera database confused me.
Q. Can you please tell me if your United Kingdom speed camera files are in
MPH or KPH.
A. You can set this with your navigation system normally!
Q.Thank you, I realise that ! But ...for instance... does Mobile_Speed_80
mean that it gives a warning of a camera that is set at 80mph or 80 kph ?
A. yes, recorded at 80 Speeds !
Q. 80 MPH OR 80KPH ?
A. Both already told you that you have to set this in your navigation
software it recalculates the speeds !
I am still confused |

However, reading their reply I could also take it to mean that if you have your device set to MPH it will trigger at 80 MPH, not that it would, but if set to KPH it would trigger at 80 KPH.
But having said that, what are they on about. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

On the PGPS database, the cameras are listed in MPH. However, my 700 doesn't read what speed the database contains. It simply says in effect "you are approaching a location in the database. I will display the bitmap image associated with that location. In addition, I will play the associated sound file" It doesn't matter if you change to mph or kph, you will still get the same image and sound.
I know that there are some satnavs that can read the camera speed and only give the warning if you exceed the limit, but I don't think any of the TomTom series has that function |
